(i) Postering : A few days before the actual Election Day, the election campaign begins with postering. These posters bear the photograph of the candidate along with that of the national leaders of the party and appear on the walls of the bazaars and streets.

(ii) Meetings : Candidates hold party meetings and corner meetings to get the support of various groups of people.

(iii) Processions : Processions are often taken out and large number of trucks, tongas, cycles and scooters and used to cany the processionists who shout slogans in favour of their candidates.

(iv) House to house canvassing : This is undertaken by the different candidates and their partymen to get the support of the public. Door to door visits are conducted to muster support.
