Many changes were introduced following the control by Bolsheviks after the October revolution:

(i) The Bolsheviks were totally against possession of private property.

(ii) Industries and banks were nationalized in November 1917.

(iii) The government took control of ownership and management.

(iv) Land was declared social property and peasants were allowed to seize the land of the nobility.

(v) In cities, Bolsheviks enforced the partition of large house according to family requirements.

(vi) The use of the old titles of aristocracy was banned.

(vii) New uniforms were designed for the army and officials, following a clothing competition organized in 1918 - when the Soviet hat (Budeonovka) was chosen. This was done to assert the change in government.

(viii) The Bolshevik Party was renamed the Russian Communist Party (Bolshevik).
